****** The NENBC Committee has reluctantly taken the decision to cancel the in-person event at Gresham Village Hall planned as part of this year’s Christmas Social and AGM on Thursday 16th December. We have been looking forward to seeing you all and it isn’t a decision we have taken lightly but feel that this is the responsible thing to do at this point for the safety of members with the rising cases of the Omicron variant and the introduction of the legal requirements of the Government’s Plan B. The good news is we will still be going ahead via Zoom with the AGM and Birdy Quiz which we hope you will all be keen to join us for. Please let us know if you want the Zoom link sent to you. *********
Thursday 16th December from 7:30pm at Gresham Village Hall and via Zoom
If you haven’t already, get the date in your diaries! We are all looking forward to our AGM and Christmas Social event and this year we plan to run it in the hybrid fashion that we have been with the talks this season, unless there is any change in Government COVID guidance in the next week. Obviously we would like to see as many of you who are able there if you are comfortable to do so, but the option to join in from home will be there if not. The hall is large and we will have tables set out at a distance from each other to keep everyone as safe as possible and there will be a maximum of 4 on each table.
Please contact Carol on email@example.com to CONFIRM IF YOU WILL BE ATTENDING in-person by Sunday 12th December so we can make appropriate arrangements for food, tables and social distancing. On this occasion we are asking that you don't just turn up on the night if you haven't pre-booked. You have a bit more time to decide on the Zoom option but it would help if you could let us know before the day of the event.
On the actual evening, we will get the business side of things out of the way first and start with our usual Review of the Year with Chair Trevor Williams. This will be followed with a quiz by Chris Tucker and Mark Boyd, last year’s winning team. We will have tables set out and teams will be a maximum of 4. They have promised there will be a whole range of questions to suit everyone. There will be prizes available, party hats are encouraged whether in person or remote. For those of you at the hall, we will be providing refreshments and those of you at home, we hope you will provide your own festive fare for the event so we can raise a glass to an ever-improving new year.
