This month's Zoom Talk is from Steve Stansfield with "Israel - an IBO Conference and a Spectacular Spring Migration"

As well as being Director of Operations and Observatory Warden at Bardsey Island Bird Observatory, Steve Stansfield is the Chairman of the British and Irish Bird Observations Council (BOC), the body that promotes and coordinates the work of the 20 British and Irish observatories at a national level. In 2014 Steve was invited in his role as Chair of the BOC to the inaugural International Bird Observatories Conference (IBOC) at Falsterbo Bird Observatory in Sweden. Steve then visited Eilat Bird Observatory in Israel in 2019 to represent Bardsey and the British Observatories at the third IBOC. Steve will talk briefly about the Falsterbo Conference, but will focus this presentation on his most recent trip to the Middle East and describe some of the spectacle that is migration during spring in Israel.

As we are currently unable to run our planned talks programme for 2020/21 with us all together in a local hall, we will instead be hosting a series of Virtual Talks on our usual Indoor Event evenings on the last Thursday of most months for the foreseeable future. You can watch on Zoom from the comfort of your own homes on your computer / laptop / tablet / phone etc and we will get an invite and some simple instructions on how to join in out to you before the events.
