As we are currently unable to run our planned talks programme for 2020/21 with us all together in a local hall, we will instead be hosting a series of Virtual Talks on our usual Indoor Event evenings on the last Thursday of most months for the foreseeable future. You can watch on Zoom from the comfort of your own homes on your computer / laptop / tablet / phone etc and we will get an invite and some simple instructions on how to join in out to you before the events.

Thursday 24th September from 7:30pm – Welcome Back!
We kick off the new season with four short talks from some of the NENBC team …

“Highlights of 2019 Birds” with Andy Clarke
Andy will give us round up of some of the best bits included in last year’s NENBC Annual Bird Report which most of you received hand-delivered during June. There are still a few copies available of the printed report if anyone wants to buy one, priced at £5.

“When Do Our Birds Sing?” with Andy Clarke
Andy will be giving us a brief update on the findings of our Bird Song Period Project that many of you have been participating in by adding SINGING to the comments when you add a vocal bird to our website.

“Exploring the NENBC Area” with Val & Nick Stubbs
You may well have seen from the newsletter articles that Val & Nick have set themselves a challenge for 2020 to visit every Location on the NENBC website (yup, all 116 of them!) and they have so far managed a highly commendable 60 given all the restrictions this year. Here they will be telling about why they did it and some of the highlights so far.

“Top Tips for Sea-watching” with Trevor Williams
In advance of our Coordinated Sea-watch event on 3rd October, Trevor will be having a quick run through on how to get the best out of a sea-watching session.

We look forward to catching up with you soon!
