This talk provides an insight into the organisation and execution of a two month-long self-guided birding trip to the USA, in the Spring of 2018 - following the migrants from the Gulf of Mexico to the Canadian border. Taking in the magnificent scenery of the Rio Grande, the 'Wild West', Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Yosemite & Olympic NP and the North West Pacific coast on the way - we visited seven States, drove 8765 miles, and saw a total of 462 species. From Hummingbirds to Thrashers, Californian Condor to Tufted Puffin, come and join us on this American birding odyssey.
Venue - Aylmerton Village Hall, NR11 8PX. Please park along Church Road or in the overflow car park at the church. Please ensure that local residents can still access their driveways and there is sufficient clearance for agricultural vehicles to use the road. A torch might also be helpful, as the village has no street lighting. To keep the club's carbon footprint small, please consider car sharing.
