Holt Country Park & Lowes

Pay & Display parking and Visitor Centre off the B1149 just south of Holt. Alternative parking off the Hempstead Road, Mackey's Hill, just past the Industrial Sites. Well wooded site chiefly coniferous but with more deciduous on its boundaries. Good for woodland birds, including Woodcock. On the south east boundary there is a lookout tower which gives good views over Holt Lowes and the Glaven Valley. NWT now graze the Lowes with a group of cattle and horses. Parrot Crossbill being the most notable species in recent years.
