Hempstead

Image of Hempstead birding site

A small village laying in a wet valley which feed towards the Glaven. To the west is the Hempstead Hall with its lake and even further west Hempstead Watermill with its mill pond on the north side of Hempstead Road on the outskirts of Holt. There is a footpath along the valley linking the village to Holt Country Park. South of the village there is a path west back towards Holt Lowes. Again an under watched area with lots of potential. Habitats: arable farmland, gardens, hedgerows, pond/lake and woodland.
