One of several central North Norfolk heaths (see Buxton & Marsham), administered by Cawston Heath Trust and managed by Norfolk Wildlife Trust. Access is off the B1149 Holt to Norwich road, just south of the junction with the B1145. There is a second access point along the track which runs north from the junction with Botany Bay Farm, on the Eastgate to Marsham minor road. The area is regenerated gorse and heather heath, with a large conifer plantation to the north and some areas of deciduous woodland along the boundaries. There is a wooded pond near the north east corner. A typical range of heathland bird and insect species have been recorded. The heath adjoins Marsham Heath at the eastern boundary. Habitats: Grassland, heath/common and woodland.
