Beeston Bump

Image of Beeston Bump birding site

Situated on the Coastal Path on the east side of Sheringham there are several paths which will take you to the summit. If coming by car I suggest parking on Nelson Road (NR26 8BU), park at either end of the road and there are convenient paths to get you to the bump. The Summit gives great views through 360 degrees. To the west, Sheringham, its Golf Course and Weybourne. South, Beeston Regis its common and the Cromer Ridge. Eastwards, West Runton with its coastal caravans and beyond with the beach and the North Sea, as far as visibility will allow, to the north. A good site for watching visible migration, be it passerines along the coast or in off the sea or great movements of seabirds ahead of a storm. Rarely calm always err on the generous side with clothing when visiting this site. Watercolour by John Hurst.
